Bio

I am Serra Húnter Associate Professor of Political Theory and Coordinator of the MA in Political Philosophy at the Department of Social and Political Sciences, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona. I coordinate the Social and Political Theory Research Group at UPF and co-founded the Barcelona Network for Critical Thought and Social Research, which connects researchers across disciplines and institutions.

My research focuses on critical theory, contemporary political thought, political theory and the arts, populism, and religious studies. I hold degrees in philosophy and political science, and completed my PhD at the European University Institute (supervisors: Peter Wagner and Axel Honneth). Before joining UPF, I taught at universities in Bucharest, Florence, and Dublin.

My work follows the interdisciplinary tradition of critical theory, combining political theory with the social sciences and the arts. My research interests include:
▪ Political Theory & Critical Theory
▪ Varieties of Populism & Religious Studies (with a focus on Eastern and Southern Europe)
▪ Political Theory and the Arts (film and literature)
